The McMinn County Transportation Department would like to Recognize and Thank Michael Hassler, for his 11 yrs. of service and Mary McConkey, for her 7 yrs. of service to McMinn County Schools. Michael Hassler is a driver for McMinn High School. Michael is very professional and courteous while behind the wheel of bus 94. Mary McConkey started by driving a Special Needs bus for the department but switched to bus 83 at Niota Elementary when asked to help with driver shortages. Thank You for the commitment you make each day for the students of McMinn County!
The McMinn County Transportation Department would like to Recognize and Thank Ron Pierce and his 16 yrs. of service. Mr. Pierce has announced his upcoming retirement at the end of this school year and will be greatly missed. You can always spot bus 84 sparkling in the sun after Ron has spent the day cleaning it up. Thank you, Ron, for all your hard work and dedication to the students of McMinn County.

The position qualifications include the following options:
Tennessee Occupational Practitioner Teaching License Endorsement 760
Tennessee Endorsement 760 for the Manufacturing area of primary teaching assignment
Meet requirements of state instructional standards
Industry Certification in National Institute of Metalworking Skills (NIMS), Siemens Mechatronic Systems (SMSCP) Level 1, or U.S Department of Labor Office Apprenticeship Certificate of Completion of Apprenticeship program.
ALTERNATE PATHWAY:
Minimum High School Diploma
5 years related work experience within the last 10 years in the related field of instruction.
OR
1 year of relevant work experience, completed within the last 10 years and an associate degree in manufacturing operations/technology.
OR
Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing operations/technology.
Examples of work-related experiences:
Computer aided drafting (CAD), electronic engineer, electronic semi-conductor processor, electronic technician, engineer, industrial maintenance, industrial production manager, machinist, numerical control machine tool programmer, plant manager.
