Due to the threat of inclement weather, which is forecasted to include high winds and heavy rain, McMinn County Schools will be closed on Tuesday, January 9. The training scheduled for Tuesday at Central Office will be postponed to a later date. Eleven- and twelve-month employees should report on regular schedule as long as it is safe to do so.

The McMinn Transportation Department would like to Recognize and Thank Frank Laureys. Frank is fairly new to McMinn County Schools but not to bus driving. Frank makes a commute from Monroe County to transport students at Riceville Elementary School and McMinn High School. You may also see Frank hauling the McMinn High School band. Mary is a Special Needs Bus Driver for McMinn County Schools and has been with the Transportation Department for 9 years. You can also find Mary driving after school tutoring, summer school, athletic events and much more. Mary is always ready to help and always with a smiling face! Thank you, Mary, for all the time and dedication you give the students of McMinn County!
