MVS MPP after school program celebrated National Rubber Duckie Day this week! We learned about a cargo ship that lost a large container of bath toys in 1992 that left 28,800 Rubber Ducks lost at sea. Our students then played “Table is Lava” with rubber ducks. They were given 2 cups, 1 popsicle stick and 1 index card to build a bridge for the ducks. They were challenged to see how many ducks they could get to stay on their bridge. We love having fun while we learn!

Due to the extremely low and dangerous temperatures forecasted for Tuesday and Wednesday, Jan. 21 and 22, McMinn County Schools will be closed. As always, the safety of our students and staff is our number one priority. Low temperatures combined with the wind chill pose significant challenges for students waiting outside on busses, as well as the operation of busses and our buildings.
