Calhoun Family Engagement hosted "Cards & Cookies" on Monday where students learned how the tradition of valentine exchange began. Participants then completed their own valentines while enjoying snacks!
McMinn County Schools will be closed on Thursday, Feb. 13, due to ongoing illness among staff and students, as well as forecasted flooding in some areas. Students will have no new assignments or remote learning sessions for this day. Messages regarding extracurricular activities will be sent out by individual schools.
During the remote learning days on Feb. 11 and 12, all elementary and high school students are eligible for meal pick-up. Student meals may be picked up at either McMinn High School or Central High School from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on both days.
McMinn County Schools will be operating by remote learning on Tuesday, Feb. 11, and Wednesday, Feb. 12. The decision to transition to remote learning is due to a rise in illness amongst students and staff, and in consideration of the forecasted heavy rainfall, which is expected to include flooding. Information will be sent home with your student regarding the expectations for the remote learning days.

This is a reminder for those registered for Family Engagement’s Cards & Cookies! This event is Monday after school. Please bring your valentines to work on if you have them. We’ll have some for those who requested them. Pick up is 4:30 from front circle. Please remain in vehicle, and students will come to you. We apologize, but no late registrations will be accepted Monday.
